Cimetamat

(Cimetidine B.P.)

Composition:

Cimetamat (Cimetidine B.P.) 200mg Tab:    Each tablet contains 200mg Cimetidine B.P.

Cimetamat (Cimetidine B.P.) 400mg Tab:    Each tablet contains 4 00mg Cimetidine B.P.

Cimetamat (Cimetidine B.P.) suspension:  Each 5ml contains 100mg Cimetidine B.P.

Cimetamat (Cimetidine B.P.) injection:        Each 2ml ampoule contains 200mg Cimetidine B.P

indicanons:The drug is contra indicated in pregnancy and lactation.

Dosage and administration:

Cimetamat (Cimetidine B.P.) 200mg/400mg Tablet:Duodenal & Gastric Ulcer.  The usual dose for Duodenal & Gastric ulcer is one 200mg tab, three  times daily with meals & 2 tabs. 200mg at bed time, or one tab. 400mg at breakfast and one tab.400mg at bed time, or single dose of 800mg (2 tabs 400mg) at bed time. Dyspepsia, Hyperacidity,Flatulence & Gastritis. One tab 200mg four times daily with meals Relief generally occurs within a week, however treat-ment for upto 4 weeks can be continued.

Cimetamat (Cimetidine B.P.) injection:

Can be administered I/M or I/V.  I/M. 200mg dose repeated at 4-6 hours intervals.  I/V.200mg given slowly at least within 2 minutes & may be repeated four to six hourly. The dose should be diluted and given over 10 minutes if cardio  vascular impairment is present or a larger dose is required.

By Intermittent Intravenous infusion: 200mg-400mg diluted in 50-100ml of Dextrose Solution (5%) and infused over a period not less  than 30 minutes.

Cimetamat (Cimetidine B.P.) suspension  :  6ml bottle.
